I N K (2021)

Výstava prezentující kombinaci křišťálového skla a tuše jako výraznou součást tvorby autorky přibližně za posledních šest let. Výstava I N K v Novém Boru je prvním výstavním projektem zaměřeným čistě na tento směr. Od vzniku prací Eben a Slonovina (v současnosti ve sbírkách Imagine Museum, St. Petersburg, Florida, USA), které byly pomyslným startovním bodem celé řady děl, autorka téma rozvinula do mnoha směrů. Objekty vzniklé v rámci komorních soukromých happeningů i velkých instalací ve veřejném prostoru mají jednoho společného jmenovatele – čas.
Časovost a vnímání času je v těchto pracích Vendulky Prchalové zásadní. Sama projekty označuje za procesní instalace, kde je divák svědkem pomalého vzniku artefaktů, které autorka nazývá „postrocesy“ či fragmenty. Vzniklé artefakty jsou tak záznamem samotného happeningu, který je často založen na site-specific instalaci.
Práce, které byly k vidění na Vedlejší Koleji v rámci výstavy I N K, jsou záznamy a fragmenty původních instalací, které již nelze zopakovat, často však odkazují na původní kompozici a dokreslují myšlenkový základ původní instalace.
Výstava proběhla v rámci International Glass Symposium Nový Bor 2021.
The exhibition presented the combination of crystal glass and ink as a prominent aspect of the artist’s work over approximately the last six years. I N K in Nový Bor is the first exhibition project focused exclusively on this direction. Since the creation of Eben and Slonovina (currently in the collections of the Imagine Museum, St. Petersburg, Florida, USA), which marked the conceptual starting point for a whole series of works, the artist has developed the theme in multiple directions. The objects, created both in intimate private happenings and large-scale public installations, share a common denominator: time.
The concept of time and the perception of time is fundamental in Vendulka Prchalová’s work. She herself refers to the projects as process-based installations, where the viewer witnesses the slow formation of artifacts, which the artist calls “post-processes” or fragments. The resulting artifacts thus serve as records of the happenings themselves, which are often based on site-specific installations.
The works exhibited at Vedlejší Kolej as part of I N K are records and fragments of original installations that can no longer be recreated, yet often reference the original composition and complete the conceptual foundation of the original installation.
The exhibition was part of the International Glass Symposium Nový Bor 2021.
